Free concert tonight to start Filomi Days party

Filomi Days starts this afternoon in Port Hardy, with a free concert from classic blues group Tightrope.

The beer gardens in Carrot Park open at 4 pm and Tightrope takes the main stage from 7-9. Meanwhile there will be kids’ events all weekend at the small stage and in the park, including a magic show, bounce-a-rama, a fishing derby and a movie.

On Saturday the parade to Carrot Park starts at noon, arriving for opening ceremonies at 12:30. There are events all day, and at 9 pm the dance begins. The movie in the park will start at 10:30 pm.

Sunday is also packed with events and will close off the weekend with fireworks at 10:30 pm.
