A search warrant executed by Port Hardy RCMP has resulted in the seizure of several drugs and weapons.
The warrant was executed on May. 15 after the detachment says they started a drug trafficking investigation at a home on Thunderbird Way in Port Hardy.
Police say two individuals were arrested at the scene and have been charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking and is currently being reviewed by the Public Prosecution Services of Canada.
Detachment commander sergeant Trevor Busch says an investigation of this nature takes a lot of time and patience, but the result has proved valuable to the community.
“The Port Hardy RCMP detachment remains committed to improving public safety and disrupting the flow of illegal drugs into our community,” Busch says.
RCMP seized approximately 170 grams of illicit hard drugs, 900 grams of cannabis, illegal cigarettes, cash and weapons.
Police say if anyone has information regarding drugs or other criminal activity they should contact their local police detachment.
