Starting on Monday, you can finally swim in the Port Hardy Pool for the first time in three years.
That comes from the District on social media, saying after years of renovations and repairs, the pool inside Port Hardy’s Recreation Centre will be open to the public on June 17.
They say on that day, mayor Pat Corbett-Labatt will be at the pool at 4:15 p.m. prior to the first swim.
Along with the opening, the district adds all swimming including lengths, public swims, aquafit, parent & Tot swims, and Early Bird will be free throughout the month of June.
The pool will also have private rentals available on Sundays, and two summer camps with swimming lessons, with the rest of the lessons to take place in the fall.
A grand opening is scheduled for June 30.
The pool was closed in June 21, after serious leaks were discovered in the 40-year-old facility.
