UPDATE: Port Alice water line break repaired

Crews in Port Alice had the water restored by mid-afternoon yesterday, after a major line break early Friday morning.

The water was been off for several neighbourhoods in Port Alice for most of day, including the medical clinic, because of a water leak.

The Village of Port Alice said the leak was at Marine Drive and Taylor Way. Crews had the repairs completed by 2:40 yesterday afternoon.

Addresses on Marine Drive, Marine Terrace, Alderwood Acres, Maquinna Ave, and Haida Ave are affected. Forest Grove Apartments and the Port Alice Clinic were also affected. Residents may notice some discoloration in their water and should run their taps for a minute to flush the water lines.

Cones will remain on Taylor Way for a few days until the final repairs are competed.
