Monthly RCMP in-person services return to Port Alice

Port Alice residents who need police services will be able to access them in the community starting August 7.

The local RCMP office will be open on the first Wednesday of every month. There will be staff at the detachment to issue off-road vehicle permits, process criminal record checks, and help with other non-emergency police matters.

The Village of Port Alice thanked the local RCMP officers who have been working behind the scenes to bring in-person services back to the community.

In emergencies, residents should still call 911. As well, the non-emergency line now is re-routed to the Port Hardy detachment to make sure villagers are served in a timely manner.
