The Kwakiutl First Nation will be testing their tsunami siren system this Thursday.
That comes from the District of Port Hardy, saying the nation is only testing the siren system as part of the Emergency Preparedness program.
The goal of the test is to make sure the system works in the event of a real tsunami.

They say the sounds can be heard in Fort Rupert and surrounding areas, with the test taking place at 10 a.m.
If you hear siren sounds at any other time, you need to go to higher ground.
