Organizers for this year’s Terry Fox Run are hoping to use Carrot Park for the event next month.
That comes from a request by organizer Janet Doward to Port Hardy Council, asking for permission to use the park and its roads and sidewalks for the run on September 15.
The event, named after the late Terry Fox, gets people of all ages and abilities across the country to run or walk to raise funds for cancer research.

Doward also requests the mayor, council members and district employees to either register personally or as a team.
If allowed, the run will take place at Carrot Park from 9 a.m. to noon.
The request is part of Tuesday’s council meeting, which starts at 7:00 p.m.
