You can now swim and skate for free in Port Hardy, thanks to funding from a BC health organization.
In a social media post, Port Hardy Recreation staff say through a grant from BC Alliance for Healthy Living, all the public and family swims and skates will be free in the centre.
The alliance focuses on supporting policies, programs, and services that aim to promote health and wellness.

Staff say the goal of this change is to give community members the chance to stay active and have fun without dealing with the cost.
They say this change will be in effect from now until June next year.
