UPDATE: Tsunami warning cancelled, but Cali quakes number 65 and counting

A series of earthquakes this morning off the coast of northern California included one magnitude 7 quake, originally prompting a tsunami warning.

The danger is now past, according to the US Tsunami Warning System, which has called off the warning which originally extended up the Oregon coastline. However, according to the US Geological Survey, there have been 64 small quakes in the same area since then, continuing into this afternoon.

The largest quake happened at around 10:44 this morning offshore and southwest of Eureka. It happened at a depth of less than one kilometre. The follow-ups were mostly minor, with only one larger than magnitude 4.

They follow a 5.6 magnitude and several other smaller quakes across Alaska last night.

Some minor damages were reported in parts of Northern California from the original magnitude 7 quake and 10,000 people were without power in Humboldt County for several hours on Thursday, but no injuries have been reported from the event.
