If you’ve ever wanted waterfront property on the true West Coast, the old fire hall in Tahsis is for sale.
The village posted a legal notice this week that the property, over a half-acre in size, is up for bids. It’s right next to the ferry ramp that connects Tahsis with other coastal communities including Kyuquot.
The fire department stopped using the site in 2021, after an engineering firm found “significant geotechnical problems” with the site had caused the building to settle, and foundations to crack. It’s also located in a flood plain and a potential tsunami zone.

However, it also features some of the nicest views in the village of the Tahsis Inlet.
The village will be taking bids until the end of next month.
