Province implements new traffic cameras in 2025

Planning your drive in BC just got easier as the province announced more highway cameras in the new year.

Drivers can access 503 cameras on DriveBC’s website, and according to the province, it allows travelers a view of 1,037 road conditions. Twenty-two of them were added last year.

In 2025, 37 more cameras are scheduled to be put in commission to improve driving conditions, and the province says it’ll allow for easier route planning, as well as give drivers an advanced look into their route.

“Where technically feasible, ministry crews strategically locate the webcams throughout BC based on needs identified by residents, contractors or weather experts,” they say.

The new cameras will be installed on the West Shore Parkway between Langford and Sooke, on Highway 3 at the Paulson Summit, the Pine Pass, and on Highway 1 in Langley.
