Tax clinic to open for lower-income residents March 31

Residents who need assistance filing their tax returns can get help for free at an upcoming tax clinic later this month.

The District of Port Hardy announced the clinic on social media Tuesday, saying Chan Nowosad Boates Chartered Professional Accountants will be prepping the tax returns for lower-income residents.

The goal is to support people who make under $25,000 or under $40,000 for couples per year and don’t have fishing, business, or rental income.

The district says no appointment is needed for the service as you can get started by emailing [email protected]

The clinic opens at the district’s municipal hall from March 31 to April 4, running from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. on the first day, 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. from April 1 to 3, and 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on the 4th.
