New tax credit for farmers who donate to food banks

BC’s Minister of Agriculture is trying to raise awareness of a new tax credit for farmers who donate to food banks. Norm Letnick says as he toured the province this summer he found out a lot of farmers were not aware the tax credit existed.

Letnick says donations may be a way for farmers to make sure any left-over produce is used.

Letnick says he hopes to see more farmers take advantage of the tax credit, especially as the summer growing season comes to a close.
