WorkSafe BC is launching a new awareness campaign on the dangers of asbestos when doing home renovations.
Spokesperson Scott McCloy says the organization did a survey this year and found that there was a lack of understanding about the dangers and responsibilities when it comes to testing for asbestos.
He says that means that homeowners or workers could be put at risk.

McCloy notes that more than 3000 products could contain asbestos which is why it’s important that testing is done before work begins.
