Cormorant Island emergency department closed for two days

For the next two days, the Cormorant Island Community Health Centre emergency department will be closed.

Island Health says it is closed because of limited staffing availability. It’s set to reopen on Friday at 8 am.

They advise you to call 911 if you are suffering from an emergency during the closure, and to not go to the department while closed.

Going to the department would delay access to care, and protocols are in place.
