Starting in the spring, there will be a new bus connecting Campbell River to Port Hardy and other North Island communities.
According to IslandLink, they will start the new service on May 16, and it will run between Campbell River, Port Hardy and Port McNeill. They add this will also provide a connection to the rest of their services.
The 230 km route is a three-hour journey each way, according to IslandLink. They say two 14-passenger Ford Transit busses will operate on the route, one northbound and one southbound each day, and connections can made with busses travelling as far south as Victoria.
“We know northern Vancouver Island is currently underserved with bus transportation,” said owner Phillip Morgan.
“That’s why we are pleased to extend our reliable and efficient bus service to this area, as it will benefit both local residents and visitors to the North Island.”
