Port Hardy RCMP have seized a handgun after an investigation of an alleged impaired driver.
According to police, they received a report on Saturday at 8:30 pm of a possibly impaired driver in the line-up of the BC Ferries terminal, headed up the Central coast.
After locating the driver, they started the investigation which led to the detention of the suspect as he was believed to have been impaired by alcohol.

Police says they found a handgun and ammunition in the vehicle. Those will be under forensic analysis.
The 46-year-old suspect has been released with a court date of May 20 this year.
