This Friday, BC Hydro crews will be cutting power on the North Island for one hour in the early morning.
The district of Port Hardy and BC Hydro say crews will be conducting system maintenance in the region, and as a result the power will be out for several communities.
The affected communities are Port Hardy, Woss, Telegraph Cove, Alert Bay, Malcolm Island, Port McNeill, Port Alice, Coal Harbour, Holberg, Quatsino, Winter Harbour and surrounding areas.

They say to keep your equipment safe during the outage, they recommend you turn off all lights, electrical heaters, major appliances, and to unplug all your electronics.
The outage is scheduled for August 16 from 12:01 to 1:00 a.m., with power to be restored as soon as possible.
