Have your say on improving accessibility in North Island communities

There is still time to comment on plans to make North Island communities more inclusive.

The Northern Vancouver Island Accessibility Committee is looking for help to identify barriers to people with disabilities and mobility issues. They will present the plan and recommendations to local governments, and are looking for feedback from all communities in the region.

Local governments provide services such as water, fire protection, local roads, sidewalks and more, and the committee hopes the survey will help identify issues and improve access to government services.

The survey points out that barriers may not be only physical, but may be attitudes and communications that aren’t inclusive, or technologies that cannot be accessed by everyone.

The survey can be completed here.
