The province says updated COVID-19 and flu vaccines are available throughout B.C. at over 1,300 pharmacies, health authority clinics and primary care providers’ offices.
Provincial Health Dr. Bonnie Henry encourages people 6 months and older to get the updated vaccines as we head into the flu season.
“This is the time of year when we see increases in viral respiratory illnesses in B.C., including influenza and COVID-19, so it is particularly important to remember healthy habits we can all follow to protect ourselves, our loved ones and our communities,” said Henry.
Vaccinations of people in priority populations like seniors, residents in long-term care facilities and healthcare workers started on October 8th.
According to the province October 15th was a big day for vaccinations according to the province, seeing 81,859 in a single day.
The updated vaccines target the KP.2 COVID-19 subvariant and are approved by Health Canada for people 6 months and older.
