A sunken old fishing boat was finally removed from a marina near Tahsis this month by the Canadian Coast Guard.
Earlier this fall a sunken 45-foot fishing boat was reported at Westview Marina, which is at the mouth of the Tahsis Inlet on Vancouver Island’s west coast. The crew from the Canadian Coast Guard’s Tahsis station contained the fuel and oil leaks coming from the sunken boat with a containment boom, and divers patched the leaks.
The boat was brought to the surface and re-floated after the hull was repaired, and earlier this month, it was towed to Gold River and removed from the ocean.
