UPDATE: Power restored in Port Hardy, after morning outage

The power is back on, after most of Port Hardy was without power this morning after a bird hit the wires.

Nearly 1,800 customers were affected, with the outage covering the area north from Holberg Road and east from Duval Road. Most of the district was impacted by the outage.

Most customers had their power restored within a few hours, with only a few customers without power remaining west of town at the Ramp Radar Site, related to a different outage.
