UPDATE: Recent power outages on the Sunshine Coast have increased the number of affected customers to over 6,970.

The number of BC Hydro customers without power is over 6,970.
BC Hydro says 6,001 customers were without power due to the adverse weather this morning on Vancouver Island and the Sunshine Coast.
While the number of outages has changed throughout today, it sits at 6,971.
The Sunshine Coast has most of the outages with 6,878, while the Island sits at 93 affected customers.
Crews are working to restore power.
