Jennifer Lash acclaimed as federal Liberal Party candidate for North Island-Powell River

The federal Liberal Party has selected a long-time Sointula resident to run for North Island-Powell River MP in the next election.

Jennifer Lash has lived in the North Island community for 27 years. She founded the Living Oceans Society and recently worked as a senior advisor to the federal Minister of Environment and Climate Change.

This week she was acclaimed as the Liberal Party candidate for North Island-Powell River in the next federal election.

“Compassion, responsibility, and practicality, are the values that shape our communities and the values I will bring to government,” she says in a statement on her Facebook page. “As your MP, I will push for investments in our people, our infrastructure, and our future. Together, we can build North Island—Powell River into a beacon of hope and opportunity.”

There are now five candidates for the region, including Tanille Johnston for the NDP, Aaron Gunn for the Conservative Party, Jessica Wegg for the Green Party, and Paul Macknight for the People’s Party of Canada.
