The proposals are back for Port Hardy’s new fire truck.
Deputy Fire Chief Brent Borg says the fire department is currently looking over all the paperwork from the manufacturers and narrowing their choice down to which truck will offer the most for the community.
He says the new technologies on the new truck will help the community, especially for its taller buildings.

Borg notes the Underwriters of Canada says a district’s fire truck is only good for a maximum of 20 years, then it can no longer be the front line fire engine. He says they will make a final decision this month.
