Port McNeill is receiving provincial funding to finish upgrading its water pipes.
Mayor Shirley Ackland says they’ve received word from the government that they were successful in their grant application for the project. She says the $1.6 million will be used to complete the upgrades.
She says the water pipes in one of the older sections in town will now connect to the other pipes in town.
