BC Ferries has created a new program aimed at improving the sustainability of it’s operations.
Spokesperson Deborah Marshall says the new SeaForward program focuses on sustainable operations and conservation initiatives. She says not only is this a smart thing to do for the environment, but it also has positive economic benefits for the corporation.
Marshall says the three focuses for the first year of the program include increasing composting and recycling, tracking whale sightings, and taking part in the Great Canadian Shoreline Clean-up.
